Meet at the Rock Cut State Park concessions by 1PM. Kevin from Rocktown Adventure will meet us there and let us into the building (as it is closed in the winter) to get our shoes, use the restroom and give us a brief overview. We will then drive to a trail head within the park befitting of snowshoeing for a hike led by Kevin. The hike will likely finish around 2:30. From there, we will head over to Rascal’s on Forest Hills for drinks and food. You can join us for both or one activity.

Please RSVP to Lisa by January 8 at 815-222-5899 or henli@comcast.net, so we know how many pairs of snowshoes are needed. If you’re over 200 pounds, please indicate that you would like the larger shoes. Cost is $20 per person since Kevin is bringing out the shoes, instructing and guiding the hike. You can pay anytime up to January 10, in case we cancel due to inclement weather (less than 5 degrees at 1PM you hardy skiers). According to Kevin, you will be warm because the forest will break the wind, you will be working up a sweat with the activity and you all own warm ski clothes! Pay Lisa cash, Zelle Rock Valley Ski Association, or pay RVSA with a check and mail to Lisa Doll, 416 Robert Ave, 61107. Please let her know BEFORE the outing if you cancel; we will be charged per rental. Snowshoeing is easy and fun, so invite a friend! If you don’t wish to snowshoe, consider meeting us for libations afterward at Rascal’s. Please RSVP.Make checks to RVSA with snowshoe in memo, Zelle RVSA or pay cash.
